The Blue Ridge Regional Jail Authority (BRRJA) runs the Lynchburg Adult Detention Facility at 510 Ninth Street, Lynchburg, VA 24504. BRRJA serves Amherst, Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, and Halifax counties, plus the City of Lynchburg. The Lynchburg jail holds 429 adult inmates across several units. Most Amherst County arrestees are booked here.

BRRJA has an online inmate lookup. Pick the facility location, then search by name. The tool shows current inmates only. Records are kept under Va. Code § 53.1-116, which requires a record on every prisoner.
